Why do I participate?

As my prelude suggests, I am interested in learning what it means to serve a community as an architect. I hope to learn how to communicate with a community effectively, how to work within the boundaries of the current sociopolitical system in order to enact change, and how to determine the most beneficial course of action we can take as future architects to help a community. My background is in music and arts management (read non-profit business management). The specific skills I will bring to the team will be largely based in my education and experience in working with non-profits, including the collection of quality data, of community dialogue and involvement, and of larger issues in event management and community focus. I am eager to see what this process produces, both in the community and in the team.
